Netanyahu is now spouting End Times rhetoric

Appealing to the End timers here in the US. The s**t is going to hit the fan soon I fear.

Netanyahu: “These achievements are increasing the status of Israel as a superpower… We will reach the kingdom. We will make it to the return of the Messiah.” (Grok confirms👇🏽)

This is what your tax dollars are paying for.

To this day, I strongly suspect that more deadly conflicts arise from religious differences than from any other cause. And memories are long; Christians may never be forgiven for the Crusades.
More recently, and with more economic motives, America and Britain may never be forgiven for overthrowing the democratically elected Mohammed Mossedegh of Iran in 1953 because he refused Britain's diseased notion that it was entitled to take ALL of Iran's oil resources for itself, and then installing the "Shah", Pahlavi, despite his questionable lineage and claim to the throne. The Shah's brutal secret police, SAVAK, made the rightly despised ICE thugs look like a bunch of Campfire Girls telling ghost stories.

I am convinced that, 6,000 years ago, the rich and powerful held a summit:

"Look, the poor and the unwashed masses are always complaining and demanding stuff. Food, shelter, security, protection under the law, honest wages for their work, etc.,

What if we gave them an invisible sky-being that is responsible for EVERYTHING?

If we can convince enough of them that their true reward comes in the afterlife, they won't pay attention to how much we're screwing them over in this one. "

A society of mass poverty will develop a religion of non materialism.

Judaism evolved from a society that has been kicked out of country after country, so a religion based on identity, family, ethics within the community, and education (a transportable skill) arose.

Christianity arose from a society based on conquest, so a religion based on forgiveness and rich rewards arose to justify and support it.

So many read the bible but don't have the reading comprehension level or the historical context to make sense of its use of metaphors and allegories.
In many cases people have so oversimplified the text that it's lost its entire original meaning but to a few scholars. Not to mention the complete re-writing of passages to fit the narrative of a given pope or monk or scribe or whoever was doing to actual writing.
All that said, yes, the "judgement day" was more about the Romans. The "Beast" in Revelations is Nero, who was, to them, the devil for his attacks on early Christians.
There are whole, months long classes, on this stuff. To think you are going to get a better understanding of the Bible by going to a hour long Wednesday Bible Study class, lead by Mark from accounting, is ridiculous.

Jesus was speaking to his true believers and (maybe) he was teaching about reincarnation.

In other words, he will come back some day, and so will the true believers be back some day. Many who believe in reincarnation are of the opinion that returning to physical form happens regularly, when one life is over another one begins. (This is not the teaching of the Catholic Church however.)

Fri Mar 13, 2026, 11:43 AM

I was curious about the connection between what was claimed in the OP's cited post from Bluesky and what Netanyahu may or may not have actually stated. So, I looked for it, knowing that online translations are problematic things due to the absence of rechecking, cultural contexts, etc. What I found was that the response that is being noted in the OP was during a Q&A after his speech to the press.

Here is a link to his speech:

PM Netanyahu’s Remarks at his Press Conference
Type: Events and Speeches
Government: The 37th Government
Publish Date: 12.03.2026
Updated date: 13.03.2026

"Citizens of Israel, my brothers and sisters,

We are in historic days, days that will be recorded in the annals of Israel. In Operation Roaring Lion, our roar is growing stronger. We are crushing the terrorist regime in Iran. We are striking and crushing its proxy Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Through an unprecedented partnership between Israel and the U.S., we have achieved enormous accomplishments that are changing the balance of power in the Middle East and beyond. These achievements are establishing Israel's status as a power that is stronger than ever. This dramatic shift in our power relative to the power of our enemies is the key to ensuring our existence.

Threats come and go – but when we become a regional power, and in certain fields a global power; we have the strength to push dangers away from us and secure our future.

In 1993, I published a newspaper article and I wrote: 'The greatest danger to Israel's existence is not found in the Arab states; it is found in Iran.' Since then, for over thirty years, the murderous regime of the ayatollahs has indeed acted to harm the U.S. and the West, but first and foremost, it acted to advance its plan for the destruction of Israel.

It did so on three levels: First – it built an 'Axis of Evil' with terrorist armies of Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis, the Assad regime, and others. The second level – it worked to establish an array of tens of thousands of lethal ballistic missiles. And the third level – it worked to develop nuclear bombs with the declared goal of wiping us off the face of the earth. Well, it will not do so.

As Prime Minister of Israel, I led many overt and covert operations that delayed Iran and diminished its capabilities. But at the same time, we built our own military, technological and diplomatic capabilities, in order to strike Iran forcefully and push the threats away from us. All these efforts converged into the War of Redemption, Operation Rising Lion and Operation Roaring Lion.

In the War of Redemption, we severely damaged the 'Axis of Evil.' It is still there, but with greatly reduced capabilities. We are committed to completing the task: Bringing security to all citizens of Israel and particularly to the residents of the North, as we are doing – and will continue to do – for the residents of the South. Hezbollah is feeling the weight of our arm, and it will feel it even more intensely. It will pay a very heavy price for its aggression.

In Operation Rising Lion, we also broke ground for the first time for a comprehensive strike – both on Iran's vast missile stockpile and on the production plants for additional missiles. We did the same regarding the nuclear project – including a mortal blow to senior Iranian scientists. They were the ones who led the development of the nuclear bombs intended to destroy us. They are no longer. And by the way, we hit a few more just now.

After Operation Rising Lion, President Trump and I warned the tyrant Khamenei. We told him: If you try to rebuild your industries of death – we will strike you with a force you have never known. Not only did he not listen to us; he began an accelerated action to restore the nuclear and missile programs – and this time to hide them deep, deep underground, under high mountains. If we had not acted immediately, within a few months Iran's death industry would have been immune to any strike.

Therefore, we set out together on a campaign – the U.S. and Israel – to continue what we did in Rising Lion: To prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, and to prevent Iran from developing ballistic missiles that would threaten Israel, the U.S., and the entire world. This is our goal.

Within a short time, we eliminated the enemy Khamenei and many senior officials in the terrorist regime. We eliminated the old tyrant – and the new tyrant, Mojtaba, the puppet of the Revolutionary Guards, cannot show his face in public. We are crushing the nuclear infrastructure, the missile and launcher array, the headquarters of oppression, the regime's power centers, and many more targets.

And simultaneously, we are acting to promote another goal: To create the conditions for the Iranian people so they can remove the cruel regime of tyranny that has ruled them for nearly half a century. We are landing crushing blows on the Revolutionary Guards and the Basij both in the streets and at checkpoints – and we are still active.

I say to the Iranian people: The moment when you can embark on a new path of freedom – that moment is approaching. We stand by you, we are helping you. But at the end of the day – it depends on you! It is in your hands!

Even now, it can be said with certainty: This is no longer the same Iran, it is no longer the same Middle East, and it is also not the same Israel. We do not wait. We initiate, we attack, and we do so with a force that is unprecedented!

We have created an alliance like no other with the U.S. – an alliance with our great friend, my personal friend, President Trump. We speak almost every day. We talk candidly, focusing, exchanging ideas and counsel, and deciding together. President Trump told me something that I want to share with you. A short while ago he told me this: 'The relationship between us is a hundred times stronger than any relationship that has ever existed between an American president and a prime minister in Israel.' We are not thinking only about our countries, only about this generation. We are thinking also about future generations, about the future of humanity.

In these days, my staff and I are weaving additional alliances with countries in the region, alliances that until a few weeks ago would have seemed unimaginable. We are doing this thanks to the immense power we built, thanks to the mighty heroism of our commanders and fighters, and thanks to your steadfastness – citizens of Israel.

I know that you are strictly following the Home Front Command instructions. You enter the protected spaces time and time again. I know it is not easy. I know it is also very difficult right now in the North. But by adhering to these things, you are both saving lives – and giving the backing and breathing room to me, the Israeli government, the IDF, and the security forces to achieve the goals of the campaign.

How did President Trump ask me in amazement? 'Only in Israel are the rescue flights – reversed. In the whole world, people want to flee from combat zones – and only with you, in Israel, everyone wants to return.'

'Where does this spirit come from?' – he always asks me. And I answer him: 'This is the secret of our success. This is the resilience of our people. This is the power of our faith – the faith in the Eternity of Israel!'"

Here is a link to the video of that speech plus the ensuing Q&A. It is shortly after 19:55 in the video that he seems to be quoting what others are saying (if the YouTube translation is to be believed):

This seems to be the first reference to "Messiah", but due to limitations in copy and paste or my knowledge, reproducing the exact text has been problematic. The prefatory symbols "ש" & "1" on this line are artifacts of quickly trying to paste this text into this reply.

שנגיע לאימות המשיח." 1ש"

Anyway, it seems that Netanyahu is quoting something being said in Israel. I know neither the specific reference that might be being made in public, but it seems clear that that segment of what is being said is addressing a segment of the Israeli population in the context of ensuring the safety of the State of Israel.

As much as people may want to find something to criticize, it would seem that we should, at least, want be intellectually honest about those criticisms and be accurate even if it takes some degree of work to do so.

That being said, I would be interested in knowing the context if anyone could properly translate his response. Forgive me my skepticism, but it is not clear that Al Jazeera, Bluesky, or random unsourced claims on the internet deserve much in the way of trust. It should not be merely about picking sides, but instead about being correct in one's facts.

Politics professor Elizabeth Oldmixon explained in an interview with Vox the strange thread of Christianity that fosters an apocalyptic vision the inspires much of the right-wing support for Israel.

These are the folks who believe that there will be a millennium in the future, a golden age, where Christ reigns on Earth, [and] they believe that before Christ will return, there will be a tribulation where Christ defeats evil, she said. There will be natural disasters and wars, and perhaps an Antichrist, as the book of Revelations notes. Then at the end of that period, the people of the Mosaic covenant, including the Jews, will convert. Then after their conversion, the great millennium starts.

She continued: You have this group of people looking around for signs of the end time, and in the 20th century when Israel was founded, this was seen as a major sign. This was electrifying for that community because the gathering of all the Jews in exile to the Holy Land is a prerequisite for all of these events unfolding. So for the subset of evangelicals in the 20th century, support for Israel became a really, really important political position.

And as evangelical Christianity grew into a central part of the GOPs coalition, pro-Israel policies became cemented in the partys ideology.

The alliance between the evangelicals and pro-Israeli Jews, though, is a peculiar partnership. The Christians enter into the bargain with the assumption that, when they reach their goal of the apocalypse, any Jews will either become Christians or go to hell. But their pro-Israel allies dont seem to mind this much, perhaps because they dont believe this version of the apocalypse will ever actually come to be and as long as it is just a fantasy, their interests and those of evangelicals remain aligned.

It is sad that Bibi is playing on the ignorance of trump supporters
