We are safe in Athens, and I want to share what actually happened to get us out, because the story being told by US politicians is not the whole truth.

... is the irrefutable fact that Biden had to follow an exit plan already instituted by Trump. In typical fashion, Trump's plan was a hodgepodge of fuckups that Biden had to straighten out, so Pox News and the rest of the aforementioned M$M fixated on the unavoidable delay, disregarding the fact that carrying out the plan as farted out by Trump, would have cost many more lives.
The grotesque ineptitude of The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight is proof positive that the Republican Party should NEVER be given control of the country ever again. Coalitions might be considered once the idiots are imprisoned, but not before. People forget, assuming they ever learned in the first place, that Loyalists who opposed the Founding Fathers were the predecessors of today's Republicans. They have ALWAYS hated the very thought of democracy. We know that now, or at least, we should.

This far into the regime and many ambassador posts empty, even in key countries. And Trump couldn't even be bothered to get one of his business buddies or family members who usually handle important matters to step up to evacuate US citizens.

Lesson: This situation is like the vaccine situation, the education situation, or any other situation affecting the hoi-polloi. Under an authoritarian regime you have to be extremely proactive in taking care of yourself. The rule is, everyone for themselves and the devil take the hindmost.
