"Mr. Kushner, President Trumps son-in-law, has spoken with potential investors in recent weeks about raising $5 billion or more for Affinity Partners, his investment firm, according to five people with knowledge of the talks who were not permitted to speak publicly about the discussions.
As part of the fund-raising effort, Affinitys representatives have already met with Saudi Arabias Public Investment Fund, which invests the proceeds of the kingdoms vast oil reserves, two of the people briefed on the discussions said. PIF is led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who has formed close ties with Mr. Kushner and the Trump administration."
PIF, which is already the largest and earliest investor in Affinity, invested $2 billion soon after the first Trump administration ended.

(17,334 posts)personal profit at a level not seen since the fall of the Soviet Union. A well learned lesson from the puppet master Putin.
The only questions are will we do anything about it and will it be enough to secure and preserve democracy for another 3, 4 or 5 generations? Would be nice to think even longer, but the bloodsucking aristocratic class seems to worm its way back into dominance every 70-80 years or so.

(29,912 posts)I'm not sure about their current leaders as I don't think they're as religious as their longtime leaders but they are the founders of Wahabbism an ultraconservative Sunni sect that is about as old as the United States. Anyways, they pretty much discriminate against anyone they don't consider a "real" Muslim and that includes the Shia in Iran and in their own country as well as other countries such as Yemen.
Based on this thread the episode seems worth watching. I heard earlier that the Saudis were encouraging Trump to go further in their war against Iran.

But no, I don't hear it. A few are vocal but the majority appear to be silent as he and his hired goons destroy everything.
Town Halls, media coverage, podcasts, billboards, emails, newsletters, windshield flyers, whatever it takes. We the people elected them to represent us and we the people are fed up so get out there and raise hell EVERY DAMN DAY.

"The Trump administration plans to convene the so-called God Squad, a high-level federal panel that has the power to override protections under the Endangered Species Act, for a meeting related to oil and gas in the Gulf of Mexico.
The meeting, scheduled for March 31, will be the first time in three decades that the group, officially called the Endangered Species Committee, will gather.
Notice of the meeting was released on Friday and officially published in the Federal Register on Monday. The Gulf, which the administration calls the Gulf of America, is home to the critically endangered Rices whale, a species that exists nowhere else. According to the latest available federal estimates, around 50 of the animals remain on Earth.
Information in the notice announcing the meeting, called by Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, is sparse..."
