200,000 immigrant truck drivers will lose their commercial driver's licenses as they expire under a new Trump rule
Some 200,000 immigrant truck drivers will begin to lose their commercial driver’s licenses as they expire under a new Trump administration rule that takes effect Monday.
The Transportation Department’s rule will weigh on the beleaguered trucking industry, which is critical to transporting goods across America at a time when energy costs are surging due to the war in Iran.
The rule bars immigrants who are asylum seekers, refugees or recipients of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, from obtaining commercial driver’s licenses. And it’s part of the Trump administration’s widening campaign against immigrant truck drivers following several high-profile accidents last summer.
Those with valid commercial driver’s licenses will lose their driving privileges as their licenses expire, not immediately.

There's a high-profile accident or two, and the magafolk don't care that it's statistically totally invalid as a concern. The people in these classes are just as safe of drivers, probably even more so.
But Trump, and the RW infosphere has them all figured out. Wave a few, statistically insignificant, extreme cases of *WHATEVER*, and the wingnuts don't care about overall statistics and probability. They are led to believe they must stop any such extreme events from EVER HAPPENING (usually by fucking up EVERYONE else's freedom).
Whether it's you know one fetus one time that came out alive in an abortion but didn't live, or the ONE lady that got shot at the Capitol, or the ONE lady that was attacked by one criminal immigrant, or the ONE "illegal" voting in the election, or the ONE person who had a heart attack soon after getting a C19 shot, or the ONE picture of the dark skinned dude walking down the street with a dead goose, etc. Or even more annoyingly, some rando makes up a story about litter boxes in classrooms and it gets spread around and literally believed by MAGA everywhere, despite being a complete lie.
"Actually believing" is a key difference between them and us. Like, we our have our couch f***** jokes and such, but we KNOW it's a joke.
Magafolk/Nativist types are ALWAYS led by the friggin nose using this exact same technique. They apparently have a twisted "extreme examples" bias thing going on, all these cultists do. These really believe that the extreme examples they're fed and manipulated with are the logical thing to consider, not what the overall stats say 
Liberals are NOT like this, which makes them impossible for us to reason with, frankly.
