Jon Favreau: The tired, relentless attempt to equate opposition to the Israeli government

with antisemitism isn't just wrong and offensive, it's a badly failing political strategy that has hurt the fight against a very real threat to Jewish people.

No one buys this shit beyond the most hardcore supporters of the Israeli government.

Attacking without merit, Van Hollen and Ro Khanna will lead nowhere good.

People would say stupid sh*t like, "I support the war, but I don't support Netanyahu."

Well, such Democrats are/were part of the problem.

The Gaza war, and the contradictory positions of the Democratic party on Gaza, were a big factors in how Kamala lost the election.

We must wage peace as aggressively as the warmongers do with war.

certainly didn’t do better voting for Trump.

I never understood that argument Biden/Kamala were so terrible so let’s vote for Trump whose son-in-law was declaring Gaza as a future Israeli and Trump family resort.

Reminds me of the Nader voters who thought “both sides” were the same and wanted to “send a message” that gave us W. Way to go.

for his unequivocal support in providing Israel with weapons.

They weren't thinking that someone else could be worse. They weren't thinking. They were crying. They were angry.

Some of them were very clear that they would not vote Democratic unless something was done. Biden did nothing forceful to constrain Israel's aggression.

I didn't feel betrayed. But, I did feel bewildered, and knew it would cost us the election.

👉🏽Note: I am not antisemitic and I have always supported Israel’s right to exist. I wish peace for all people in the MidEast.
I respect all faiths and spiritual traditions.

I hope the citizens of Israel are realizing that the US Citizens are sick of sending taxes to wage wars and kill children.
If they support Netanayu and Trump….they’ve revealed their heart !

They need to care about the entire Planet . We all remember the Holocaust, the way to protect Israelis is to PROTECT the World.
Enough of this Madness ! Two-state solution.

Israel requires the US support, the day is coming when that money will dry up. Soon. Soon. Soon.

"May the LORD bless you and keep you;
May the LORD shine his face upon you and be gracious to you;
May the LORD lift up his face upon you and give you his peace."

I don't support Israeli policies.

I questioned why the public at large in Israeli society would revolt against their government regarding policies toward Palestinians. I don't believe objections that are similar to mine exist there in any real sense. They appreciate Trump in
that regard.

I take their opinion of Trump quite seriously. It is a reflection of a state of mind and spirit, imho.

…as Gideon Levy pointed out, all the major parties in Israeli politics have spent decades spreading the narrative that Palestinians are violent subhumans who are an existential threat to all Israelis. (TBH, the “violent threat” part of that narrative reflected a degree of reality for at least the first few decades of Israel’s existence.)

The end result is that, for a pretty large majority of the Israeli populace, Palestinians are seen pretty much the same as Blacks or Latinex are seen by MAGA.

It works in many ways. It eases the conscience too so you don't have to think about the HUMAN aspect of driving people off their lands, burning their villages and shooting them dead when they try to go back home.

I stand with Van Hollen & Khanna and do not appreciate the unconditional support expected from them. In return for their opinion, they have been slandered.

Hence, Schumer did nothing to prevent this disaster -- this stain on the Democratic party -- brought about by an eager Gillibrand.

Ironically, Franken was about my least favorite host. I didn't find him to be especially progressive, and he wasn't that funny.

I really liked Randi Rhodes and the budding Rachel Maddow.

But the one I liked the most was RFK jr. His Ring of Fire was the best of AA.

RFK jr making policies that harm the public is especially heartbreaking for me, having been one who formerly listened to him.

How the mighty have fallen.
