Could an alternative canal be quickly built across the UAE for ships to use without using the Srait of Hormuz?

This is probably a ridiculous question but I'm asking anyway...

And the terrain in the Musandam is similar to Norway of all places.

The pipeline to Fujairah was supposed to be rhe solution, but the Iran has been dropping drones there on the regular.

The Boring Co., founded by Elon Musk, has begun work on an underground tunnel in Nashville.

Currently, the 8-mile journey from the airport to the Music City Convention Center can take anywhere from 12 to 30 minutes during peak traffic times. The Boring Co. estimates the same ride could take as little as 8 minutes with its fleet of underground Teslas.

There are plans for three stops along the Music City Loop: the Nashville International Airport (BNA), the Music City Convention Center and the Tennessee State Capitol.

Despite talks with several other cities, The Boring Co. only has one other tunnel in operation. The Vegas Loop initially boasted 155 mph rides in self-driving Teslas when it was first announced. Since then, Boring has switched to driver-operated cars for the 2-mile tunnel that currently circles the Vegas strip.

Let's make him even richer!

And because Musk is who he is and loves publicity, we should definitely make a big deal of it so everyone knows where he'll be.

I went halfway between Dubai and Abu Dhabi and measured straight across. It's about 100 miles there, and goes through some significant terrain.

The Panama Canal is 50 miles long and took ten years to dig. Since you're looking at a situation where you'd need to transit ships larger than the Panama Canal can accept - think the Maersk E and Triple E classes, Ultra Large Crude Carriers, that sort of thing - I'm thinking 30 to 40 years would be necessary to build this canal.

Trump will be history in just a few years, and once he's gone we can work on getting Iran to leave the Strait of Hormuz alone.

It would be quicker and more efficient to help the Gulf Cooperation Council finish the Saudi Landbridge Project, which is a rail line between the Port of Jeddah on the Red Sea and the Port of Damman on the Gulf.

Just use thermonuclear detonations all in a row.

Newt Gingrich already has a plan ready to implement.

15. Can the UAE Build a Canal to Bypass the Strait of Hormuz?

In theory, it sounds like a strategic solution—but in reality, building a canal across the United Arab Emirates to bypass the Strait of Hormuz would be extremely challenging. The terrain, environmental impact, massive costs, and engineering complexity make it a long-term mega-project, not something that could be done quickly.
