In 2017, Donald Trump's then-Chief of Staff, John Kelly, accompanied Trump on a visit to Pearl Harbor. Kelly recounted how Trump turned to him and asked why they were there. He knew nothing about Pearl Harbor's history. The uncouth slob only knows about it now because of that visit.

All this is just more willful ignorance contained within his usual fog of lies. But it was his description of the grief of families meeting the bodies of their dead at Dover Air Force Base that was most illustrative of his abject disdain for human life. “They scream, like I’ve never seen anything before. They’ll break through military barriers. They’ll run to the coffin and jump on top of the coffin. Crying mothers and wives. Crying desperately.”

That has never happened. Crying yes. But screaming and climbing on caskets isn't something americans do.

Lucian K. Truscott IV knows the military from the inside, however, and has even chased Miss Universe with Trump. As a longtime follower of his writings, I believe his story. As we all have seen, Trump is lower than whale shit, whether using Gold Star families for fundraising or chumming with Putin to win election.

Descended from Thomas Jefferson. Was instrumental in getting them to accept TJ’s African American descendants officially recognized by the family association. He and his dad are West Point grads. His grandfather was also Army — told Patton where to get off during WW2. A red, white and blue All American family. Plus, Truscott IV partied with Jimi Hendrix.

He's one of those old dolls where you pull a string and it has built-in phrases it repeats over and over.

He may be remembering the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson who was killed in an ambush in Niger. On a call to the widow he said something to the effect of "he knew what he signed up for". There was quite a lot of backlash about his insensitivity for saying that. He probably doesn't remember many, if any, of the soldiers returning in a coffin but he'd remember Sgt. La David Johnson's because of the controversy.
