Republicans could be using their majorities to pass meaningful legislation that helps the Americans to whom their campaigns pay lip service. They are choosing instead to do bullshit messaging from their seat of power. The “BOWOW Act†is a prime example. (Thread)

If the GOP were interested in passing bills to actually help people, it would become pretty easy to get seven democratic Senators to support those bills. That’s all they need to pass anything they want. But they are a party of grievances, not governance.
Second, the GOP elevated dog shooter Kristi Noem and serial animal abuser RFK Jr. One of Trump’s favorite insults is that someone “died like a dog.†Pretending they are somehow the party of animal rights is laughable.
