(5,341 posts)Where he would show random clips of Walker Texas Ranger. It was pretty funny out of context.
Years later I found out he was a Republican asshole.

(Flags only fly at "half mast" on ships; ships have masts. On land flags are flown on a STAFF, ergo, "half-staff."

(16,237 posts)In the 90s I took my two sons on a DART rail ride to the West End and to a fancy restaurant there. One of my sons noticed sitting a couple of tables away was Chuck Norris and three other people. My son was beside himself in wanting to get his autograph. (His twin brother couldn't give a crap about Norris) I worked in TV then and met well-known people all the time and the one thing you just didn't do was ask them for autographs.
Finally, he couldn't stand it any longer and my son asked me if I had some paper and a pen. I gave him one of my business cards for the TV station and figured he wouldn't blow my son off it he knew his old man worked in the media.
As it turned out, Norris never looked at the front of the card and was gracious enough to give him his autograph.
I guess I'll text my son and see if he still has it. Maybe it's worth more money (if it is at all) now that Norris is dead.

(1,733 posts)Even accounting for him being wealthier than average (although I assume not that wealthy given he was never a major box star), getting an extra 24ish years is exceeding his expected life span.
