Some of that generous ICE funding needs to be reprogrammed.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is funded through the end of fiscal year 2029 due to a massive infusion approved in July 2025 as part of Trump's big offensive omnibus (BOO).

The compromise to get TSA, FEMA and Coast Guard funded is to claw back some of that outrageously generous ICE money and reprogram it for those agencies.

Republicans know how to claw back funds. They did it to public broadcasting and foreign aid.

Now they need to do it in the case of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

And I think I understand why they cannot bear to let that happen, knowing what awaits them in November and the difficulty of fighting for future ICE funding when control of Congress changes hands.

It's a very tough spot for Republicans to be in. The people waiting in those long screening lines at the airport must surely see by now that it was Trump and his termites who hijacked the money.

There were delays due to storms coinciding with the first day of Spring Break travel, and a blackout at Denver airport. Those events would have caused delays anyway.

But I went to Europe in early March and came home on the 17th. There were no delays at the TSA lines on the way out and the precheck line was manned and working fine. No delays on the lines coming home, and the Global Entry was manned and working fine

They're bullshitting us. Again.
