The man did his job and exposed the many ties between Trump and Russia but Bill Barr, the
Republicans, and the corporately controlled media did their jobs for the P.T.B. and hid Mueller’s
work.

Democracy dies in the dark.

Sorry, but Mueller let Bill Barr control the narrative that Trump didn't collude with Russia in 2016, which he knew was bull shit. Just another Republican who refused to stop Trump when he had the chance.

Thought he was "above" politics and thus let off one of the biggest criminals in history of our country. White males like him have let wealthy white males slide for centuries. It wasn't above politics, it was politics as usual. Sad.

They used to be run by Republicans (always have been and still are) and they lived and breathed the rule IOKIYAR. That was in the culture every single day since J Edgar. The culture says "Laws are for street crime. We are not political, so if politicians do anything iffy, we just ignore it, because their punishment is to be voted out of office."

Remember there has never, ever been a single Democrat confirmed as FBI Director. The Democratic Presidents believed this same J Edgar bullshit and didn't even try to nominate a Democrat.

Mueller might have had more integrity than some, but he was a product of that sick culture. There was never a chance he was going to do anything. Moreover, by the time he was named for Mueller Time, he obviously was mentally was past his prime.

RIP Mueller. Thanks for nothing.

That Mueller did to help with our situation with Trump's treason? Anything?

At least Smith tried to put out some of his documentation. Mueller didn't even do that and he did not say a peep when the Attorney General completely undermined him. What is up with that? It is not as if they could fire him, or put him in prison.

What is the point of developing a reputation if you are not willing to put some of that on the line when it really counts?

I do not celebrate his death. But I am also not going to sugarcoat his life.

History is filled with heroes who had the moral code and courage to break rules, from inappropriate policies, to much stronger laws, when it was necessary to achieve justice. He simply wasn’t one of them.

As it turned out he had serious medical issues that were finally disclosed to the public. Mr. Mueller came out of retirement to do the Special Investigation (Chump/Russia) and the pressure really took its toll on his health. He was not in any shape to do it again for Merrick Garland.

served his country admirably as a Captain in the Marines.

With regard to his investigation, he was constrained by forces that no one here would have been able to overcome.

So was Jack Smith...different forces, but constrained beyond his control nonetheless.

His Congressional testimony during the Trump Fiasco, Act I.

It was revealed then (or at least rumored) that he'd been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Not an easy way to shake your mortal coil. One of our neighbors died with Parkinson's last summer. Once you enter the final stages of the disease, the end comes petty quickly.

Answer: What is the first word that comes to mind when I hear the name Mueller?

I have no ill will toward the man, but that's the chief emotion I associate with that name. We had such high hopes for that investigation, and...

Still, he tried. I will always believe that. RIP, Dude.
