I do not believe for one second that Bill Kristol asked this question "in all seriousness."

I think we know that even if reporters DO ask Republicans about Trump, they'll say "I DIDN'T SEE THE PRESIDENT'S TWEET," as they ALWAYS DO.

Kristol, editor-at-large for The Bulwark, discussed Trump's comments on a new episode of the "Bulwark Takes" podcast with host Tim Miller.

"Nothing's unimaginable, obviously, in the era of Trump and in the character of Trump, but it is on the edge of the worst things he's said and the most grotesque," Kristol said.

He noted that it seems unlikely Trump will face any pushback from the Republican caucus.

"Will there be anyone who attempts to preserve any sense of dignity and respect for people who serve their country in public life?" Kristol asked.
