They obviously have British writers and they can do some things that the US SNL could never get away with. I could watch more of it.

There's a regulatory watershed of 9 p.m., before which things are supposed to be more straitlaced, but after that things can get quite raunchy compared to the main US channels.

That watershed's a bit old-fashioned nowadays, as many youngsters have TVs in their bedrooms along with access to the internet and all its wonders 24/7, so it's more of a token gesture in practice.
