President Donald Trump has cast another mail ballot in Florida as he continues to publicly bash the voting method as a source of fraud and push Congress to curtail the practice.
Palm Beach County voter records show the president voted by mail in a Tuesday special election for state legislative seats and that his ballot has been counted. Early in-person voting in the contest ran through Sunday, when Trump was still at his south Florida estate.
The White House did not immediately return an Associated Press request for comment. Aides have said Trumps ire is directed at states using universal mail-in voting, not individual voters who may not be able to get to a polling place.
Nonetheless, Trump has in the last week called mail-in voting cheating and corrupt as hell. He is urging Congress to pass the SAVE Act, a sweeping bill that would bar universal mail ballots and limit the options to a select few voters such as those with disabilities, military commitments or who are traveling on Election Day. The measure faces steep odds in the closely divided Senate even with the presidents pressure.

The more the president falsely claims that mail-in ballots are corrupt, the more relevant his habit of voting by mail becomes.

You know, it was brought to my attention today that were the only country that does mail-in voting, the Republican claimed. Mail-in voting means mail-in cheating. I call it mail-in cheating.
As is too often the case, the president had no idea what he was talking about. For one thing, many countries in continents around the globe rely on postal balloting without incident. No matter how many times Trump says the U.S. is the only country that embraces such a system, reality keeps proving him wrong.,,,,
But theres another element to this thats just as notable: The president who wants to stop Americans from voting by mail also votes by mail. MS NOW reported that the website for the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections shows that Trump voted by mail in this weeks special election in Florida. The Washington Post similarly reported:
If this sounds at all familiar, its not your imagination. In Trumps first term, the president also condemned mail-in balloting as horrible and corrupt, even as he continued to vote by mail.
Pressed on the conflict between his position and his record, the Republican told reporters, Sure, I can vote by mail because Im allowed to.
Six years later, Trump is still condemning mail-in voting for baseless reasons, hes still voting by mail himself, and hes also demanding that congressional Republicans impose new election restrictions that would prevent millions of Americans from doing what hes done on multiple occasions.

President Donald Trump, who is in the midst of pressuring senators to curb the use of mail-in voting, voted by mail ballot in Tuesdays special election in Palm Beach County, Florida.
The Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections website indicates that Trump, who is registered to vote at his Mar-a-Lago estate on Palm Beach, voted by Mail Ballot in a special election between Democrat Emily Gregory and Republican Jon Maples for a seat in the state legislature. A spokesperson for the office confirmed to The Washington Post that the information [on the site] is accurate.

make an effort to be there to vote?
Sure, he can.
