Watching ICE cops in the airport, I'm reminded that I've never seen a single ICE cop without at least two others nearby. I've seen a lot of rotund ICE cops, a few skinny ones, and a pile of really stupid looking ones, but I've never seen a solo ICE cop.
Are they afraid to walk out one by one? Do they need helpers at all times? Is the ICE slogan "Three's Company?" Are they trying to be the "Three Stooges? "Three Mouseketeers?" Why a minimum of three?
Maybe we should divide the number of ICE cops by three, just to get an accurate count of how many there are in total.

(25,367 posts)We've seen lots of videos of these ICE agents operating, and it looks like the rifles are not only unnecessary but a hindrance.
Do ICE agents face so much danger they have to have these rifles on hand at all times. How many ICE agents have died in the line of duty? How many regular cops (who face danger everyday) carry rifles and wear body armor all the time?
I think the intent is psychological. Make the fat, untrained ICE look scary, like stormtroopers.

(38,037 posts)You'll see 3 or 4 of them - and 100 people around them that despise them . . .
And those 100 people look away when they are inflicting pain on people.

(151,185 posts)In Minnesota, people did not look away. Just the opposite. ICE ended up having to bail out of the state, due to public pressure and news coverage of abuse of power by ICE.
In fact, we haven't heard of further atrocities from ICE since then. The people won. ICE lost.
Minnesotans stood up too ICE and forced them to stop their unconstitutional behavior, at least for now. That is what happened. People saw it, and will repeat what happened in Minnesota if ICE tries to pull that crap again.

(113,820 posts)they get close enough in their face to be thrown to the ground and beaten. The crowd backs up then as though their guns are going to be pointed next (and they frequently ARE).
So, I don't often see a lot of turning away. I see horrified reactions among those who want to confront without giving them an excuse to kill more protestors. Most of us know what REAL police are legally required to do under these situations with crowds. ICE, on the other hand do not seem to think law applies to them and that includes not murdering innocent citizens. (As we have seen at least twice and not seen but evidence mounts that it has happened far more often than that).
