CHARLES COUNTY, Md. (7News) Dayton James Webber, who had previously captured the attention of ESPN's cameras for his inspirational story as a quadruple amputee-turned-champion cornhole player, is now having his picture taken by jailhouse cameras after being accused of murder.
According to investigators, Webber, 27, of La Plata, shot and killed Bradrick Michael Wells, 27, of Waldorf, in Charles County, Md., Sunday night, according to the sheriff's office.
Webber was arrested Monday morning in Charlottesville, Virginia. Webber is known as a professional cornhole player, sources confirm with 7News' Brad Bell.
Charles County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Diane Richardson said Webber was driving his vehicle when he shot and killed Wells, who was in the front seat. Two more passengers were in the back seat, and all four people in the car were friends, according to investigators.
