The writer of an article praising Graham Platner wrote a book slamming Joe Biden

I've seen an article posted here that defends Maine candidate Graham Platner-which can be found here:

https://jacobin.com/2025/10/platner-maine-senate-reddit-media

And you find this at the end of the article:

"Branko Marcetic is a Jacobin staff writer and the author of Yesterday’s Man: The Case Against Joe Biden."

And here's how this book is described on Amazon:

"...Over nearly fifty years in politics, the man called “Middle-Class Joe” served as a key architect of the Democratic Party’s rightward turn, ushering in the end of the liberal New Deal order and enabling the political takeover of the radical right.

Far from being a liberal stalwart, Biden often outdid even Reagan, Gingrich, and Bush, assisting the right-wing war against the working class, and ultimately paving the way for Trump."

I found this interesting....and I believe Platner is a Repub plant

Biden was the first president to begin reversing Reaganomics. He had to be defeated because his policies were shifting wealth away from the billionaires to everybody else. Biden actually was succeeding at the dreaded wealth transfer.

He had to be stopped.

If he wins election, he'll be worse than Fetterman. If Janet Mills wins the Democratic primary she'll be so wounded by the lies being told about her, Collins will be reelected.

Naturally the Jacobins are all in.

Except that is not what the attack is about, is it?

Did you read the article, it just dismiss it because of the source?

Excerpts:

Reading through Platner’s many hundreds of anonymous comments, it’s hard to paint him as a secret white supremacist or far-right extremist of any kind. In fact, his posts more or less align with the persona he has presented to voters in the two months since he launched his campaign: a rough-around-the-edges military veteran and oyster farmer with a penchant for crude language and a passion for firearms and sustainable living who holds a variety of standard progressive views alongside some heterodox ones.

...

He called a video of a police shooting of an unarmed black woman “disgusting” and frequently criticized what he said was widespread racism in police forces. He complained that no one cared about handgun violence “because handguns mostly kill young black men” and “nobody really gives a sh*t about things until it’s well spoken white kids getting hurt.”

...

Elsewhere, he railed against the “disgusting” treatment Americans received during the second Red Scare for their earlier “combat valor against the forces of fascism” in Spain’s civil war. “Punished because they confronted the threat before most other people even recognized it as one,” he wrote. When a user posted a 1994 photo of South African neo-Nazis about to be killed by a police officer, Platner didn’t mince words.

...

But read in their totality, Platner’s posts paint a different picture of the candidate: someone who, far from a secret fascist, was openly and passionately opposed to fascism; who held a variety of typical progressive views even as he expressed himself in ways many liberals would regard as crass and offensive; who sympathizes with rural Americans despite being vehemently opposed to many of the candidates they vote for; and who was disillusioned with and radicalized against the system by US wars.

Interesting this guy has written one book, trashing President Biden, published in January 2020.

It wouldn't surprise me if Platner is ignorant of being used.

But earlier in his career, particularly in the 1990s, his centrism helped push the party to the right. He evolved as a Democrat over time, becoming ever-more liberal by the time of his presidency. But he's quoted in the 1970s as saying he was a conservative on abortion and the draft, and he opposed bussing for states outside the former Confederacy. In the 1990s he backed the Violent Crime and Law Enforcement Act, largely considered to be responsible for the mass incarceration clusterf*ck, and he voted against gays in the military. In the early 2000s he backed the war in Afghanistan and bankruptcy legislation that was proposed by credit card companies.

Our leaders are not gods, they are not infallible. They are human and make mistakes. With luck, they learn from their mistakes and our leadership becomes stronger and more progressive. That's the case with Biden.

with the people that like the Platner gaffes.

I honestly don't know who is in a worse position after the primary - Gov. Mills or Platner. My gut says Platner is going to win and the polling suggests he might take the seat. But who knows?

This is messy.

Pres Joe Biden and.. praises Graham Planter.

Got it.

Well, Planter's own mouth and Nazi Tattoo has made the Case Against himself.

“just take some responsibility for themselves” to avoid attacks and “act like an adult for f–cks sake.” He said people should avoid alcohol so they don’t end up in a “compromising situation” and downplayed the challenges service members face in reporting sexual assault."

Self explanatory why ".. he covered the tattoo Before he Launched his campaign.."

..he uses being "drunk" as an Excuse for the Tattoo But Tells Female Services Members they shouldn't drink or they could end up in a compromising situation."
