Pearls of wisdom offered by our elite media on CNN about No Kings this morning

Out of morbid curiosity, I tuned in this am to CNN to see what they were saying about the historic, creative and enormous protests yesterday. I happened to catch Manu Raju's Inside Politics in progress.

Let me set the scene. The first thing I heard was the RW guest saying something like I guess that guy with all the makeup wasn't at his first protest. Laughs all around. Then the guest host (not Manu Raju) in a very somber, quasi-worried voice, wanted to know what the purpose of the protests was. He admitted the huge numbers, but the guests agreed that some people just like to protest for the sake of protesting. Then he went on to how unpopular Dems are as a party. He likened NK to the Tea Party, with no acknowledgement that the NK protests are many, many times bigger. He said that the TP didn't end up too well for the Rs, implying that the same would be true for NK because, you know, the two movements are just carbon copies of each other.

The whole tone was condescending, depressing, and misleading. At the end, the chortling "panel" agreed that it did show a certain enthusiasm but didn't seem to think it would lead to votes in the Fall.
I could only stand to watch that much, but it was clear that the corporate media is not presenting a true, or journalistically valid picture of the protests.

with derision and condescension or not at all.

They are both Trump billionaire-owned outlets now, so they, of course, obliged.

The current owners just don't have the spine to say anything that might piss off the orange turd. And Ellison will just kiss his butt.

AI:

Yes, CNN is undergoing a significant ownership change as part of a pending acquisition of its parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery, by Paramount (specifically, Paramount Skydance, led by David Ellison). The deal, which emerged in early 2026, involves a takeover that places CNN under new leadership, leading to concerns regarding potential shifts in editorial direction.
