What is the impact of Trump surrendering tonight? Iran is left to "control" the strait and can charge tolls on any ship passing through. That means they control a large portion of the worlds oil and logistics. In theory, they can college billions of new revenue that they can use to rebuild the country and possibly go further.
Can Iran become the China of the Middle East? Authoritarian, but the center of finance?
Will Saudi Arabia tolerate Iran charging tolls on Saudi oil? Is this action setting up the ME for it's next major conflict? Will smaller ME countries like Qatar and UAE remove US bases if Iran demands it?

Without sanctions, Iran would likely be a powerhouse.
