FL-SEN: Vindman raises $8.2M for Democratic Florida Senate bid
MIAMI Alexander Vindman, the former National Security Council aide known for his role in President Donald Trumps first impeachment, has raised $8.2 million since launching his Democratic bid for Senate in the Sunshine State two months ago, his campaign announced Wednesday.
The first-quarter results raised by the new Democratic candidate outpace the 2025 fundraising from the Republican in the race, Trump-endorsed Sen. Ashley Moody. And it comes amid growing Democratic optimism over inroads in Florida after flipping two Legislative seats last week thanks to independent voters and peeling off Republicans the continuation of a trend that has shown up nationwide during Trumps second term.
Moodys campaign did not respond to a request for comment. Her fundraising from January through March wont be posted until the April 15 Federal Election Commission filing deadline, when details about Vindmans donors will also be made public. But Vindman surpassed her 2025 figures, which showed Moody raised $2.6 million and transferred another $3.2 million from other authorized committees. She ended 2025 with $5 million cash on hand.
The total Vindman raised is on the higher end of whats typical for many Senate candidates across the U.S. By the end of 2025, a total of 16 Senate candidates had raised more than $8 million, FEC data show. Vindmans campaign is reporting ending the quarter with $6 million cash on hand, meaning a chunk of the money raised has already been spent, whether on polling, staffing, online fundraising or ads. A release about the donations did not break down how much was given toward the primary versus the general election.
