John Sauer, Solicitor General

When you're in law school, one of the first things you learn is to come to class prepared. Very prepared.

It's more than a real concern that you'll be called on to recite the case(s), but to explain in fine detail what it's about. For one thing, if you have no idea of what you're talking about, shut up. Don't even fake it.

For another thing, if you try to fake it, you'll be exposed right away. And you'll look like an asshole in front of your professor and 79 of your classmates who smirk and chuckle at your gaffes.

John Sauer made himself look like an asshole in front of the nine justices of the Supreme Court. (Trump couldn't tell the difference.) Not to mention that one Justice, Elena Kagan, was once Solicitor General herself. I'd guess she hid a silent smirk.

Sauer may be the butt of jokes and a model of poor lawyering in law schools in the future.
