Trump’s top mouthpiece, Steven Cheung, has thrown a tantrum at a CNN host who dared to question the president’s war in Iran.

Abby Phillip and the NewsNight panel were reacting to Trump’s freewheeling address to the nation on Wednesday evening, in which the 79-year-old president said the “core objectives” of his campaign against Iran were “nearing completion.”

Phillip poured scorn on the president from the top of the show. In her opening remarks, she said: “If you were looking for some new insights from the president about how this war is going, where it‘s headed, how exactly it might end, I‘m not sure that you got it today. The president basically repeated a lot of the things that he‘s been saying in Truth Social posts, except he said it out loud.”

This didn’t land well with Cheung, the White House communications director.

“Totally unhinged @abbydphillip of CNN has no sense at all,” he began his rant on X. “Complete lightweight who has no idea what she is talking about on foreign policy. It’s now clear why her ratings are in the s--tter.”

5. How do you know Cheung has Tourette's?

And if he did, why would you mock him for it?

Tourette’s is stereotypically known as the disorder that causes someone to involuntarily swear or say inappropriate things. Most recently a presenter at the BAFTA awards who has Tourette’s was paired with another presenter who is black, and the man with Tourette’s shouted out the “N” word on live television.

In my experience (I’m a retired therapist) that presentation is the least common- although some form of vocal tic is required for the diagnosis, it is much more common for it to take the form of non-verbal vocalizations such as grunts, whoops, shrieks, etc. combined with motor tics such as blinking, jerking, grimacing etc.

Cheung is a contemptible lackey who deserves our scorn, but not at the expense of stigmatizing mental health and neurological disorders that many others struggle with. If someone had cerebral palsy, we wouldn’t mock him as a “spaz”, and if someone had schizophrenia, we wouldn’t mock them as a “psycho”, would we?

I understand everything you said. It's not where I'm coming from at all. And, it's just one of those days where I'm not in the mood to "defend" myself or "explain myself to you" any further than that.

No offense. If I felt the need to own the accusations in your "Rant/lecture," I'd do that. I don't feel the need.

Cheung is a foul pig who likes to include "your MOTHER" swipes in his rants. He's insulting, crude, a fucking pig, and if it makes you feel better to hear me cast him in that light, I guess my work is done here, until the next post response where someone psychoanalyzes me and tells me all about my intentions and motivation.
