I apologize for sharing the post about his alleged death, but it shows how scary our media has become. The story was reported as true by USAToday and the BBC, outfits you expect to do due dilligence before publishing. I expect reporting on breaking news will become harder to take at face value

And, YAY! Jonathan lives on!

The upside here is social media is working as the only check we can expect on fake stories

2. I saw some "rumblings" that the story yesterday was false, but after CNN reported it and

others likewise picked it up, I didn't follow further.

The poster (supposed, but I'm sure "fake" veterinarian) that made that claim is going to suffer some massive Karma, I hope.

But, good for the 193 yo Jonathan! May he live and prosper!
