I am so good and goddamned sick and tired of the MSM literally sanewashing this situation. They are approaching this situation with a lethal combination of fear, feigned ignorance, stupidity, fake medical ethics, and contrived concern for the Nation.

We are witnessing a narcissistic collapse of gigantic proportions due to the grotesque psychological makeup of the voting public which has read and watched too many heroic portrayals of criminals, psychopaths, sociopaths, and terminally neurotic creepy people. Think: Tony Soprano, Dexter, Walter White, and the like.

For those who do not believe that this applies to them, consider the scene in Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho wherein you have just witnessed a horrifying murder of a naked woman in a shower and (ostensibly) the son of the murderer is attempting to dispose of the body by sinking her car with her corpse inside, into a swamp. At one point the car stops sinking and the son is frightened that it won’t submerge further AND SO ARE YOU. Both he and you are relieved when it begins descending again. You have now identified with the murderer and her “accomplice”. Hitchcock understood that entirely.

But the scaffolding which supports these individuals is variously fragile and incomplete and once it collapses, the inner personality, now supported by metaphorical cobwebs also implodes. This is what is happening right this moment.

Causes of a Collapse

Many of us have seen this coming and been warning about it for years. His narcissism and his lack of empathy/sadism have always been front and center. I have never felt more helpless and hopeless in my eighty-three years, and I, too, put much of the blame on the MSM. Trump knows the end is coming and he doesn't give a damn about anybody else. He's going to take us with him if he can.

12. May I Suggest A Very Minor Revision

When referring to the main stream media (MSM) I prefer the acronym M$M as it is more descriptive of the said organization. It survives as a $ generating system keen to maintaining your attention via clicks therefore their revenue stream regardless of the damage it does to its consumers.

Some refer to this system as late-stage capitalism. I'm not sure I like the term. True capitalism is a symbiotic relationship because the producer and consumer both benefit from the transaction. What we are seeing more and more these days is something where chaos is produced to benefit manufacturers at the expense of consumers. At some point this system becomes unsustainable since transactions are no longer balanced.

that our media was reasonably fair and balanced (except for Faux news); the Trump years have exposed how corrupt the Fourth Estate is - saying anything or everything to avoid exposing the corruption of the right, while hyper-focusing on any minor imperfection of the center-left, with "the both sides do it" mantra. If we ever take back the government, we had better focus on dismantling the right wing echo chamber that the media has become. Use the antitrust laws and the fairness doctrine to try return media to something that reports facts, not advances the agenda of one side through selective framing and reporting.
