The prices of oil and natural gas (and by extension gasoline and home heating oils) are not going down anytime soon, possibly not at all this year. Consequently, US oil and gas companies are near the beginning of a very long streak of windfall profits thanks to this idiotic war and the Imbecile in Chief. When Dems take control of the US House in November, the first bill they should pass in January should be a windfall profits bill on these oil and gas companies. They should eliminate almost all deductions for these companies and then impose a massive tax rate (75% if not more) on their profits. Also, the bill should redirect those taxes to become refund checks for American taxpayers. Challenge the US Senate, regardless of which party controls it, to pass the bill and then dare that moron in the Oval Office to defy the American people by vetoing it.
House Dems need to go for the jugular and prove to the country whose side they are on and start cleaning up the messes created since January 20, 2025.

(23,358 posts)The FIRST bill passed should be the bill that expands SCOTUS to a minimum of 13 seats, and codifies ethical rules for the justices into law, with fines and suspension for violations/
lack of compliance.
Without expanding the court (and killing the filibuster to do so), any legislation other than budget bills can be blocked in the senate, or if somehow miraculously passed, could be overturned by the Roberts court.

Loose. No. Hamburger is $7/lb. Please dont make it $10.
