I always posted about John in GD. Many of his donors didn't get to see this in The Lounge. I, too, wish to thank EVERYBODY that helped with this along the way!

(103,113 posts)Was very unusual in that I didn't have to fight it the second time around. What I didn't have the first time I applied, in 2012, was medical evidence. The second time I had three vital things going on simultaneously; I had medical evidence, a navigator holding my hand through the whole thing who knew the system well and I was homeless and living in my car. Each of those made mine the easiest case on the planet.
Having MRIs and a navigator helped remain sane, being homeless expedited my case such that my wait times for both steps in the process lasted nine months to the day. I didn't need an attorney, didn't have to fight in court. Instead, I got a phone call on a Saturday morning informing of my award.
I do know many horror stories that made me nervous the whole time... I am so happy for John, he can finally live better and with a lot less stress which is crucial for survival.
Thank you for promoting his cause!

(103,113 posts)Working for five more years then -45 was elected and things spiraled at that point but I was able to plead my case with the navigator's help. She was awesome. I may not have succeeded with out guidance.
