There is a video going around facebook with a deep fake AI Steve Martin claiming to

have some weird honey cure for Alzheimer's Disease.

I saw it and at the end of the video it asks you to click below. I didn't and googled around to see it is fake.

Just makes me sick. So many people are sick with this disease and so many people and families are desperate.

1. I have seen deep fakes of Oprah Winfrey touting a weight-loss gimmick. . .

. . . And Sylvester Stallone talking about some male-enhancement trick that will make you, "rock hard". The latter was very embarrassing because that ad appeared when I was trying to show my brother a YT video on how to install a shelf that was kind of complicated.*

Obviously, I always click my way out of those ads as quickly as possible, but it is funny to imagine anybody believing -- for even a second-- that Oprah Winfrey was shilling on Youtube because she needed the money.

* I am my brother's baby sister. I don't doubt that my brothers probably discussed sex in conversations that didn't include me.

Steve Martin talking to Martin Short about some bogus Alzheimer’s cure involving honey.

And the gelatin weight loss mixture you can make at home, how to smooth old crepey looking skin, etc. etc.

I’m so sick and tired of all this faked stuff invading my daily reading. Trouble is I wonder how many gullible people believe it.

4. I have seen several deep fake videos featuring "real" people, and it makes me wonder.

Why aren't the fakers sued into oblivion? Using someone else's likeness and voice to fraudulently state that they are endorsing a product is legally actionable.

They are buying ad space, so their identity is known. I don't understand how they get away with it. It seems like a few lawsuits would clear up a lot of this.

his fakes stopped on youtube. He made a lot of noise asking people to make complaints to youtube.

I don't know about the facebook stuff.

How can this be? They rub the magic elixir into their palms first. That should make it as potent as possible and yet when their awkward arm movements are detected, no hairy palms!
