And now vaccine protection is falling!!

my parents had.

I remember not being able to go to the public swimming pools. I remember my mother whacking me in the head when I snuck a drink from a public drinking fountain.

Are we related? I was 6 and (in case any of the young'uns here think we Boomers are making this shit up) had the exact same experiences!
I also remember my parents running us to the doctor to get the shots. And yes, Marjorie Taylor Greene, there were 3 shots given over 3 or 4 months before immunization was complete. And my parents sweated it out the entire time.

lining up at the County Health clinic for the shots, and later the Sugar Cubes. EVERYONE was there in our little town.
(I remember other sugar cubes in a later iteration altogether.)
I'm thankful it was available for us. I can't imagine how things would have been without it.
Trolls have since shaken our faith in each other and our leaders.
Sadly there is no vaccination against the worst threat to us now from trolls who have killed our Trust.

First day it was available in my little town. I'm pretty sure every kid in town was in the line for the shot. Parents made sure of that. A few had already had polio, including the guy who ended up marrying my younger sister. He recovered, though.
