If they can automatically enroll in the draft, they can automatically issue voter registration....

Would that actually be a good idea? If by "they" we mean the federal government, then let's think twice.

The states, not the Federal government, is responsible for registering voters. We've seen recently Trump's attempt to control voter registration by making the Federal government responsible for creating eligibility lists and controlling vote by mail through the Post Office. Do we really want Trump to be responsible for actually enrolling voters?

I'm not sure, but isn't it possible for a state to automatically enroll voters?

It's definitely not impossible, but it's easier to check a box saying someone turned 18 anywhere than someone turned 18 in a particular state. I'm also sketchy on giving the federal government that power because it's harder for Republicans to do shady stuff in 50 different states than 1 federal level voter registration.

All permanent resident males between 18-26 years old must currently register for the draft, regardless of citizenship.
That makes automatic registration for voting a little problematic.
