April 13, 2026 at 7:10 am EDT By Taegan Goddard
Compared to the fall 2025 poll, Trump has lost the most ground with women under 35 and men under 30.

(18,112 posts)A big part of the youngsters turning against him is because they don't want any part of his "excursions" IE: wars, which they would be fighting, and the suck ass economy that Trumpedo has hoisted on the American and worlds peoples.

(64,408 posts)Too often what matters in elections in the US is who stays home instead of who gets out to vote. Subtle difference, maybe, but think about it.
Dems, and progressives in general tend to get complacent when things have gotten done, like the malaise after passing Obamacare. You'd think they would be out voting in celebrity mode, but instead people stayed home because the effects didn't kick in fast enough or something. Meanwhile, the right is fighting tooth and nail to rescind any improvements before they get too set in. Hell, they're still trying to kill Social Security, probably the most successful government program the US has ever ran, and frankly it could be vastly improved upon if there was a will to do it.
Historically, when turnout is high it has been good for Dems, which is why Repub strategists main plan is to make voting harder to do.
Since Reagan, the country has been desperately needing a strong shift to the left.
