(19,769 posts)and it breaks my heart to say that.
But, given what's happening now, half of our country (more than half of our congress) prefers to support the worst impulses of the lowest common denominator.

(11,214 posts)I hope they all suffer reduced life spans.
I hope they all are infected by communicable diseases.
I hope they all go bankrupt and lose EVERYTHING.
More than anything else though, I hope they all suffer life long shame and constant remorse that is like an amputated limb that itches and can not be scratched. With an added dose of phantom neuropathy for good measure.

(296,654 posts)The truth is out. They are women-hating racists who dont give a shit about the rule of law, the Constitution or Democracy.

(11,214 posts)Its always bummed me out because I have several baseball caps for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Indiana Hoosiers (my Alma Mater) that I have completely quit wearing because there have been multiple times MAGA-esque or MAGA-adjacent asshats have tried to strike up racist conversations with me by assuming ANY red hat of ANY kind marks the wearer as being a fellow racist scumbag...
Just ANOTHER reason for me to hate the sons of bitches!

(23,732 posts)Of course if they are anything like Americans probably 33% of them pay no attention to politics and have no idea who Trump even is.

(106,309 posts)Only 29% think it's a positive force. The UK feeling is now more in line with France; Canada and Germany are a little more negative still. And remember this is about the country - polls normally show a difference between attitudes to a country and its leader, though since Trump was elected twice, the blame attached to the country increases.
Sadly, every single one of us knows who he is - he is inescapable here too. Our petrol prices have gone up as well.

(6,907 posts)There's always one more good thing to break, one more good person to bully, one more tradition to ignore for its own sake, one more rung on the ladder to remove, and one more hole in the boat that needs to be bigger.
I can't really at this point, take anyone seriously who asserts that this clown before us is a 'strong leader', I'm assuming they either do not know of what they speak, or are degenerate-adjacent, hoping against hope he lowers the legal age of consent.
