In Canada's 3 by-elections today, looks like Carney's Liberals took all of them.

Poilievre's Conservatives did very poorly. The Bloc Quebecois gave us a good run in the one in Quebec, but I think the Liberals got it.

Carney now has a majority in Parliament, and can now be a dictator on day one. (kidding)

The funny thing is that at one point Polievre had a chance of winning when Trudeau resigned. Trump changed that. I like Carney - he seems like the right guy at the right time and he's wicked smart - but Canadians are, IMO, voting against Trump. I'll take it!!

Liberals would now hold 174 of the 343 seats in the House, giving Carney more latitude with his political agenda.
...
CBC, CTV and the Globe and Mail are projecting Liberal wins in two Toronto-area ridings, or constituencies - Scarborough Southwest and University-Rosedale - as well as in the Quebec riding of Terrebonne.
...
In Terrebonne, Liberal candidate Tatiana Auguste was projected to have beaten the Bloc Quebecois's Nathalie Sinclair-Desgagné.

Auguste won that riding by a single vote in the last election before the results were thrown out by the Supreme Court earlier this year over a clerical error on a mail-in ballot.

the Quebec one was a question mark given how close it was in the general election. I am very happy it, too, went Liberal giving Carney the numbers needed to move ahead more quickly on the agenda the Liberals put forward.

I am very happy we now have a majority government and the icing on the cake is that the Con party is in tatters, losing both public support and members 'crossing the aisle' to join the Liberal party.

We were very fortunate Mark Carney agreed to run, he was reluctant at first and who could blame him, he had a very nice life as it was but he chose to put the country before himself and his wife is very, very supportive.

I have to admit I was kind of 'meh' about him but he has proven me wrong and is the right person at the right time and will do Canada proud, actually he already has.
