Olivia Troye is running as a Democrat for US congress from Virginia, 7th district

I am happy to see it. If sane and honest former-Republicans emerge from the edges and re-enter the ring, the base may follow. We are much better off as a country if the GOP base splits itself in two, with some of them departing from the traitorous wreck it has become.

Tthe NBC article says she is running as a Democrat. She stood on stage at the Democratic convention to warn of the threat of Trump. She bravely testified in congress and opposed the Trump administration. She is an American hero for that action.

Other worthy candidates may be on the ballot, I don’t know them. But good for Olivia for taking this step.

She is a fighter.

I’d love to see her in congress. She is no lightweight, either, with deep foreign policy knowledge.
