Would-be shooter accused Trump of being "awful," a "traitor" and retweeted Trump was able to fake assassination attempt

Trump is “quite capable of having staged a fake assassination attempt on himself to trick the American public,” argued one user in a message that Allen retweeted.

Allen appears to have started posting on the Bluesky social media platform in February 2025, a few weeks into Trump’s second term. That account frequently criticized the Trump administration’s policies and lamented that more powerful figures weren’t taking action against the president.

“Everyone already knows trump is a f**king awful person in multiple dimensions and no one has done sh*t,” the “coldforce” account wrote in April 2025.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a press conference with other Justice Department officials Monday that investigators are probing any connection Allen may have had to left wing groups, though Blanche was not asked about the posts specifically.

Last month, the account posted to accuse Trump of being a “traitor” to the United States.

“Put a traitor BACK in office, get treason like, I don’t understand why people are surprised by the US ripping itself apart,” the user wrote in March. “I’m pretty sure that’s the expected outcome of having a traitor at the helm.”

2. He got a lot of his diagnosis right, but went totally off the rails on the response.

As far as "probing any connection Allen may have had to left wing groups."

They have it SO BACKWARDS!

Being connected to activist groups and joining with citizen lobbyists who are finding ways to work together to redeem our national soul is the path AWAY from violence.

We are NOT helpless. It is NOT hopeless. Engaged citizens are powerful. Violence is NEVER the answer.

They will undoubtedly find that he has no connection to activist groups because if he had, he would NOT have gone off the rails.

You have be stuck in a destructive, overwhelmed, hopeless, cynical, tape-loop of powerlessness to start planning to "solve" the insanity of this regime by trying to kill people in it.

Who knows how he was radicalized? Some internet rabbit hole? Targeted for radicalization in the service of the counter-resistance? Who the fuck knows?

What I DO know is that he was not radicalized through connection to the groups the regime points to as "ANTIFA" -- groups like Indivisible, SPLC, or Defiance.

What I DO know is that if he had found a home in a progressive group like Indivisible or Defiance, he would have seen good people in action, making a difference. If he had connected with centers of hope and action like Hopium Chronicles, he would see people working to get resolutions of condemnation passed at the local and state level. He would have seen interviews with incredible, hope-inspiring candidates, he would have heard what Democratic Party Chairs across this country are accomplishing.

I think it is almost guaranteed that it is his LACK of connection to such groups that left him vulnerable to the particular brand of insanity that brought him to that dinner, armed to the teeth.

6. He apparently did, but none of that matters. He attended No Kings and was a apparently involved in a BLM spinoff.

I'm pretty sure mental illness and under employment are the issue here. People with mental lillness can be involved in wholesome outlets, but that doesn't assure they don't experience total frustration and hopelessness. I knew someone who completely withdrew from the party after Trump won in 2024.

Nor does the depression and sense of helplessness that can take hold in the face of under-employment.

Your post makes a lot of sense. He may have been isolated, and then he started shooting at the gun range.

I think guns are the gateway drug.

If the DOJ goes after BlueSky itself as the "left wing group" to blame here.

He decided to boost the man he so hated.

Go figure.

(if he really thought he was going to succeed, he's even dumber than I already think he is - because his "plan" was shit.)

I wish he had stayed home. Allen just made it worse. And, he didn't think it through.. as someone who is smart in studies and degrees.

.... and was even working on an independently released game -- Bohrdom (game action sort of physics-based, where the object to to prevent escaping electrons or something). That sort of work is can be pretty solitary too.

It is very difficult to know what the heck goes on in a persons head to end up in such an extreme place.

I wish he had stayed home too. I wish he had gotten himself connected with folks who have some hope and faith that there are enough compassionate, engaged people in this country who share basic aspirations and values to get us pointed in the right direction again.
