So now he's "paused" effort to reopen the strait??
Figured out that it's impossible to escort all those ginormous ships?
Trumpublicans need to face reality.
He is incapable of negotiating.
His demands will never be met.
The Iranian regime cares not for the suffering of it's people. No amount of bombing will "win" this war as long as IRGC and Basij with jet skis and cheap drones can inflict damage on neighbors, oil tankers, and container ships.
The only "out" is surrender and reparations -- and epic humiliation.-- which he will NEVER allow.
The magnitude of the damage to this nation and the world done by his criminal Iran insanity will escalate every week as the year progresses.
Republicans are in denial. They have their fingers in their ears, singing "la la la." The creatures are hanging on to the fantasy that the felon's criminal war on Iran will magically come to an end and things will "snap back" to some sort of tolerable trumpian business as usual.
But that will NEVER happen with the felon in the White House. There is no out with Trump in power.
He IS the crisis.
The ONLY way to end the crisis is if he leaves.
If enough of them wake up and see this reality we'll see an effort to push him out. A push to resign for "health reasons" or some face saving bullshit.
Resignation is not outside the realm of possibility.
If that does come to pass, they'll find they left it to long. It's too late. Many, many Republican careers are over. The party can't "live down" this level of chaos and destruction. And they only have themselves to blame.

He is the most unpopular leader in the world. He's not fooling himself that he's getting the Republican nomination.
Or he is fooling himself, but would make the humiliating deal and hate the felon so much over forcing him into the position -- and blowing any shot -- that he releases ALL the Epstein documents, audio, and video with perpetrators unredacted.
Stranger things have happened.

(627 posts)Has not seen the documentary video of dear leaders negotiating prowess so deftly displayed during his years on the apprentice. How rich and powerful and persuasive he is!!!!!
Maybe we should send a whole bunch of his books, the art of the deal, so they can read the first hand accounts of his enormous influence in business and everything else he has laid his giant commanding hands upon. Surely they will then know the might to which they must, must I tell you, bow down to his existential power and and command of all things.

(13,802 posts)While I would not normally give much credit to statements from the Iranian regime, knowing who they are dealing with, and under whose orders the trumpublican worms are operating, I think we can bet the statements are spot on.

Iranian official are seriously questioning the competence of the U.S. negotiating team, with officials describing U.S. narratives as a "pyramid of lies." Iranian officials view Steve Witkoff as a "total ignoramus" on the issues. They've called for the U.S. to send "actual technical experts" rather than what they termed "real estate golf buddies."

The Pentagon is lying. Netanyahu's gamble has directly cost America $100b so far, four times what is claimed, Abbas Araghchi wrote on X, adding that US households face about $500 in monthly costs and warning that indirect expenses are significantly higher.

(13,802 posts)... a growing number of people to early graves.
And then there are the ones RFK, Jr. is proudly eliminating from the "risk pool."
And the millions dying worldwide as a consequence of the felon's immoral, destabilizing, and intolerable USAID cuts.

(109,124 posts)Donald Trump is the crisis. He is an extremely fragile, insane man who has an ego larger than the United States itself. He wants to win 100% of the time and will never admit he failed. He must be thrown out of office, whatever it takes. But I currently fear that we're in inning 7 of this madness and this game might be heading to extra innings.

(13,802 posts)An end to the criminal insanity would be welcome. I just don't see that ever happening with him in power. We're not just heading to extra innings. I think we're heading to a nightmare that never ends. A neverending baseball game would be hell enough. This shit....
