BREAKING: Adam Hoffman has been released from jail for "good behavior."
Hoffman is the 49-year-old Waco, TX attorney who faced life without parole for repeatedly raping a young boy, until Texas AG Ken Paxton offered him 1 day in jail and no need to register as a sex offender. A judge increased his sentence to a whopping 60 days. He got out in 30 days.
This is MAGA's vision for the USA. Full story: https://letsaddresstexas.substack.com/p/ken-paxtons-office-offered-a-child

(8,949 posts)cornyn is pissed at trump for endorsing paxton and may turn on the rethugs from now until November.
Trump screwed over cornyn and he probably won't forget it win or lose.

(4,812 posts)... with only one sure cure.
He, Dan Patrick, and Abbott are the Tyrannical Triumvirate of Texas, and three of the vilest demon spawn of Satan ever to foul the Earth.
As far as Abbott is concerned, I share the view of many Texans who wish that tree had been bigger.

(8,037 posts)we had Brownback and his holier than thou crew. They all fracked the states they "governed." I'm leaning on my hope for you in these next two elections, TX. I still don't think KS has learned yet. trump just came out and recommended the senate majority leader of the KS lege for governor. He can't stand ours... not only is she a Democrat... she's a woman!

(4,812 posts)... though I spent some time there, and married one for a while. Even fifty-odd years ago it was not my favorite place. I keep an eye on what happens there because it's been a bit of a bellwether over the years. Republicans I refer to men are constantly stepping on their own johnsons in their efforts to control women because they are weak, malicious little snowflakes who cannot abide allowing women to decide anything for themselves; it has to be with a man's permission. That's pretty much certain to get a few of them dead.
I'm a 79-year-old straight married man, not a narrow-minded religious fanatic obsessed with exerting total dominion over the lives of others, like Abbott and his sidekicks.

(8,037 posts)San Antonio and Austin. Back in those early days I was there, I longed to retire at Galveston. And the oil companies and the chemical companies ruined the Gulf so bad, I still won't eat seafood today because the CoRexit has gotten so far down into the ecosystem. My SIL moved back to Seguin for retirement, and we spend the first 30 minutes+ of every phone call griping about TX, KS, and the government in general. She's as out of her mind about it all as I am. I only wish we were close enough to cry in each others arms and walk the marches together. I miss her badly.

Though, as some others on this thread mentioned, I'd rather be discussing this starting tomorrow.

(7,077 posts)Fingers are crossed he gets the nomination... I don't think Paxton's public degeneracy will play as well around here as the Petroleum Club members are counting on.
