Ha ha, had to laugh at this.....we went to Ireland on Nov 20 after the 9-11 attack.

I was on vacation this spring, people staying in our complex were from Argentina, Norway, Holland and Scotland, they all spoke English, the hardest one for me to understand was the Scottish guy. They were all super nice people.

All the Irish people would just hug us and say how sorry they were, and a few even said that they had family there. Anyway, we did take a day trip to Scotland, and we could not understand them either. So nice and supportive but sooooooo hard to understand. But loved them all, Irish and the Scotts.
