Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsTapper just interviewed Haberman and Swan about their book Regime Change
He covered many topics from the book but mostly stuck to how trump was overreaching his authority and how sycophantic his staff is. I wondered if he would even broach trump's health since he was so extremely concerned about Biden's. After all, even if trump's health was not a main focus of the book, hi bizarre behavior most certainly is. So how then do the authors explain such behavior?
Finally, at the end he did ask about trump's hearing problems, falling asleep, bruised hands, etc. But it was significant to me that he only asked about trump's physical health. His extremely and increasingly strange behavior would not be caused by those problems. Haberman said the administration is not transparent so she doesn't know about his health.
And Tapper seemed willing to leave it there. Nothing to see here, I guess.

(26,008 posts)and it was a great as one would expect. Even Jon Stewart got them to admit that everything trump says is a lie and to KEEP ASKING. That was their advice to other journalists.

(104,783 posts)Glad they are making the rounds and in some cases, much time is well used in talking to them.

(1,630 posts)Although I probably wouldn't have anyway with those authors.
It's easier to get gain the confidence of people if you play a long game rather than a short one. Doubtful they would have gotten anywhere near as much information/interviews if they were writing articles at the same time because by the second or third one their info pipeline would have been cut off by the Administration.

All three of them can go to hell.

(26,008 posts)It's access journalism. The fact that he agreed to talk to Maggie and Jonathan is suspicious in itself. I thought the same about Woodward. But I withhold my most scathing critique for the WH press corps who let him get away with lying every day.
