Charles Krauthammer: Larger Sandy Relief Bill Was 'Rape Of The Treasury'

Charles Krauthammer: Larger Sandy Relief Bill Was 'Rape Of The Treasury'

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/05/charles-krauthammer-sandy-rape-treasury_n_2415772.html

Fox News' Charles Krauthammer said Friday that John Boehner had prevented a "rape of the Treasury" by blocking a larger relief bill for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. (Jump to 3:55 in video above for comments)

Bohener and the GOP leadership were heatedly condemned by New York-area Republicans for failing to bring a $60 billion bill to the floor, with Chris Christie calling it "disgusting." Instead, the House passed a much smaller bill dealing solely with flood insurance on Friday, with a larger bill set to follow.

Krauthammer, though, said that Boehner had done the right thing.

"I think what Boehner did in postponing the vote until today was absolutely right," he said on "Special Report." "That was a rape of the Treasury. $60 billion, including a ton of pork. The part that was essential that passed today was to replenish the flood insurance. That's right, and the rest ought to be debated in regular order."

Really???!!!

You wonder why our country is turning into a 'Rape' culture when assholes like this use the word 'Rape' in a manner like this. Rape is one of the absolutely worst crimes you could wish upon a person outside of perhaps death. To have one's body violated against their will is something I can't even imagine because it has not happen to me. But I've had friends who have have been raped and it is fricking traumatic as hell and very difficult for the person who was raped to wrap their heads around the concept of 'Why me?'.

This guy uses rape like it's something painful that happens but we're use to it like bad acne or a blister. Sure it happens but in a few days we forget about it and move on with our lives.

Absolutely disgusting!

The military? Payoffs to your own pork barrel?

What a hypocritical rotten excuse for an American. I hope he and his family get tied up in a hurricane, lose everything they own, and are sent packing by mother nature to start over.

Even if you believe for whatever reason the Sandy relief bill was poor, whether that's due to being a miser or not liking some of the additional money in it for other things, there are far less loaded words than that, especially at the same time the situation in Steubenville is so prominent.

I don't know if Krauthammer was always this bad, but in recent years he's just been horrid every time I hear about him.

Where to begin? What was your opinion on the Wall Street bailout? A hell of a lot more money went into that.

And let's not misuse words. Calling it rape trivializes the pain that real rape victims have gone through.
