LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said he received calls from two different agencies suggesting U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell had died before the senator was released from the hospital on July 12.

I don't know how reliable this is, BUT, it is Friday night, when the trash is taken out.

Short of locking down the center completely there is just no way someone hasn't come forward whether it's another patient or a therapist or nursing staff. We're talking a lot of people.

Yes, the actions of the staff and lack of information is concerning, but the evidence we have at the moment suggests he is alive in some capacity.

In reality it doesn't matter at all. The Senate can and will function without him. We just need to wait and see what reality tells us--and it will; in time.

13. There has been much speculation online that

the repukes are trying to prevent Bashear from calling a special election. If the repukes and his family wait until after Aug 3, apparently Kentucky law considers that too close to a regular election, and it would just have to wait until then for a new senator to be elected to take his place.

...about the outcome of a special election to replace McConnell, and they stripped the governor of the ability to appoint someone more friendly to Democrats.

Occam's razor says McConnell is alive--despite the concerning actions or lack thereof of his staff--and things will play out in the coming weeks.

I know we all love conspiracy theories--it's not just limited to the Reich-wingers--but we really shouldn't speculate and just see where this goes. It really is not important in the long-run other than to give us all something to wring our hands about.

His wife went off to China a few days after that ambulance call didn't she? He had to either have been dead, in a coma, or stable at that point. I have a hard time believing he was stable - he would have made an appearance by now.
