A fascinating tidbit re: a NYC lawyer

This weekend, my HS class is celebrating our 50th reunion. So far, it’s been a wonderful and enlightening trip down memory lane.

One classmate with whom I was not particularly close was there. I said hello and as we chatted we developed a pleasant rapport. I explained that we had worked in vaguely similar planes as he was a partner at a MAJOR New York law firm that represented two of my clients and that I had worked with his partner/colleague for many years.

He shared two thoughts.

First, he confirmed that the lawyer I worked with was an asshole. No surprise to me.

Second, the financial capitulation to Trump was considered a pittance and they paid the money (read: bribe) as the cost of doing business. In other words, the firm makes so much money anyway, pay it and move on.
