Any "plan" by the President to rebuild our manufacturing base and create good jobs that doesn't address our disastrous trade policy is meaningless. Tax incentives are never going to be enough to level the playing field with 3rd world wages.

(25,183 posts)I check out a lot of media, even with OWS coverage, it's pretty much a nonissue for many people.

(25,183 posts)any news stories from even the last three months about NAFTA that have taken any hold on the agenda? If OWS had focused on that, it might have been a different story, but they seem completely unfocused to me, or at least not focused on that issue.
It sure hasn't come up in the Republicon debates, even from Ron Paul. Why would the President make a single mention of NAFTA? I'll bet you a beer that the term is not even uttered tonight, either by the President or the Repig response.

(25,183 posts)I just don't see anyone in the media trying to tie NAFTA to that. I really don't expect the President to comment on it. He's a free trader all the way.

(25,183 posts)nor the President seem to hear it. Since the point of the OP was about whether or not he would talk about it, my answer is "No".
