New Documentary Claims Hitler Died In 1965, Did Not Commit Suicide After WWII

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by REP (a host of the General Discussion forum).

According to director/producer Noam Shalev and researcher Pablo Weschler, Adolf Hitler lived out his last days in an luxurious Argentinian hotel, instead of committing suicide in a Berlin bunker as previously thought. Their new documentary, Hitler in Argentina, attempts to make their case and is set to be released next year.

Shalev doesn’t claim to be 100 percent certain about his theory. “We will never know the truth,” he says. “But there is enough evidence to build an alternative theory about what happened to Hitler.”

Weschler adds, “No one believed the Russians’ story of Hitler’s suicide in the bunker. As early as the summer of 1945, there were headlines asking, ‘Where is Hitler?’ all over the world.”

Recently declassified FBI documents were the push to Shalev and Weschler to begin their film. They long believed that British intelligence officer and historian Hugh Trevor-Roper’s investigation into Hitler’s death was “unprofessional,” because Russian troops did not allow access to many forensic investigators.

Hitler committed terrible atrocities against the Russians and when he was boxed in during the last days of WWII, he knew the Russians would get there first and do terrible things to him, so he opted for suicide. The Russians would not have allowed him to escape to Argentina. However, it makes a good story for a film, so consider it the fiction that it is.

and that the dental evidence which placed him in the bunker as a suicide was a forgery since the radiographs obtained were from a sympathizing dentist. There was a whole book about the dental forensics written contemporaneously and many since the War. It is not inconceivable and if anyone thinks for one minute that they didn't consider evacuating, you've obviously never been in a megalomaniacal dictator's shoes, IMO of course.

Anything's possible in this world. Imagine that an individual, acclaimed by many as their savior and great patriot, would trade arms for delaying the release of hostages held by Iran. As we say here in Philly, "Hard to believe, Harry."

It allows room for a sequel.

First rule of action fiction.

and became a part of the CIA. Hitlers technical and aerospace apparatus also survived in the US and Soviet space and missile programs.

In other words, lots and lots of speculation, but no evidence.
