TALLAHASSEE Gov. Rick Scott has taken to the airwaves in recent weeks to declare that the federal health-care law's Medicaid expansion would come at a much higher cost to Florida than previous estimates.
Turns out he may have been fudging the numbers.
As first reported by Health News Florida, state economic and health-care experts warned the Governor's Office last month that a $25.8 billion, 10-year cost estimate for Florida's share of the Medicaid expansion ignored components of the law that obligate the federal government to pay for 90 percent or more of those costs.
On Monday, Scott met with U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in Washington and repeated the estimate, developed by the state Agency for Health Care Administration, and also cited it in an op-ed published in the Tampa Bay Times this week

(3,073 posts)Funny thing about criminals, they don't actually see any reason to have to tell the truth- especially when they can repeatedly get away with criminal acts and rather then going to jail- at least in this case- they get to be Governor (after pleading the fifth). So no one should be surprised here- that is exactly who he is. "Fudging' the numbers? Fucking with them is more like it.

(3,073 posts)He won by a tiny percentage- I'm pretty certain he only got in due to machine rigging but had the Democrats put in a better candidate, there would have been more noise I think. And Christ went and walked himself right out of office by hugging President Obama. Most people here cannot stand Rick Scott so I hope he's voted out and then put in jail where he belongs.
