There is an area of SW Scotland so warmed by the gulf stream that palm trees can grow there, even despite the dismal and very non-tropical amount of sunlight of a Scottish winter.

At the south-western tip of Scotland lies Logan, the country’s most exotic garden. Warmed by the Gulf Stream, southern hemisphere plants flourish in this plantsman’s paradise near Port Logan in Dumfries & Galloway.

Our hub was Dublin, but every day we would see a different part of the country. We saw a huge chunk of the west side of the country. From Galway to Dingle to Cork.
