7. A Lot Of People Do Vote Emotionally Rather Than Intellectually
Thu Jan 10, 2013, 03:35 PM
Jan 2013

And the emotion of fear is a pwerful one to overcome. Never mind that the ballot is secret so there is no blowback for voting intellectually instead. It also doesn't help that truth is in short supply making it difficult without a great deal of research to know and understand the truth. Throw in voter suppression that distorts the vote and we end up with what we have.

helps make this quote great...car trunk or elephant trunk both are telling. Except I picture the car as more like an armored tricked out Hummer disguised as a Honda Prius. I have a creative mind but I only use it for good. Kinda like Maher. Peace. LMSP

17. Easy Answer: Racism

Prior to the Civil Rights acts in the 1960s, when the FDR coalition was strong, Workiing Class White Americans identified with the working people and were concerned about the poor.

After the 1970s, working class and the poor became code words for Black people. Govt programs to help the poor and the working class became Govt programs to help Black people.

Since the 1980s, a majority of White voters, regardless of their economic class, identified more with the super billionaires than they do with working class people and the poor. In their mind, the top 1% are White like them, and the poor are Blacks and Mexicans.

like to follow the toughest kid, the big bully. They emulate and enable the bully. They give their lunch money gladly so he will like them. The 1% are the bully. The idiots emulate the bully and are willing to give their lunch money hoping the bully will like them.

Thats right, "the other 49%" vote against their own best interest time and time again...go figure, it's just crazy. They live in their faux news bubble, where facts and reasonableness are alien to them. They just have a penchant for inflicting self-pain. They cannot be talked down off the ledge.

break up the "too big too fail" scam as we have been requesting. Maybe jail time for high up fraudsters.

Why is everyone so easy on criminals these days when the criminals are high rollers.
