on edit: I have never heard of anyone adopting a gun, but people do "buy" animals.

(22,336 posts)I've never bought a gun but I had all sorts of paperwork and had to tell them what vet we were going to and promise all sorts of stuff. They said they sometimes visit people's homes first but I knew the person who was handling the adoption and she knew my home.

I don't really see the difference other that the gun doesn't piss in the dining room corner and claw the shit out my couch cushions.

They even have cat shows. Though you can't buy cats at them.
