MA Democratic Party Chair - Scott Brown is a faker.

Thanks, John Walsh.

I wish all Dems would say the same thing rather than talking Brown up. The guy is a faker. Time to let this known.

http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/senate-races/276835-mass-democratic-party-chairman-scott-brown-is-a-faker

Massachusetts Democratic Party Chairman John Walsh called former Sen. Scott Brown (R) a "faker" and insisted the state party is not concerned about its chances in defeating him in what will likely be the second special election with Brown as the GOP's nominee.

...

"I've met and observed Scott Brown for a few years. Charismatic is not the word I would use. I think Scott Brown is a faker. And so, yeah, is Ed Markey going to dress up in a costume and drive around Massachusetts? I mean, Scott Brown is a lifelong politician, who drives around in a truck he bought to haul his daughters horses, with a suede overcoat that cost 600 bucks, pretending he's a carpenter or electrician. Yeah, I suspect Ed Markey's not going do that," Walsh said during a conference call with reporters.
...

I think [Massachusetts voters] will see, if it is Ed Markey or if it is [Reps. Mike] Capuano or [Stephen] Lynch or any of these others, what you will see is a candidate of substance on issues that are important that will take the fight, just as Elizabeth Warren did, on the substance," he said.

On another positive sign, Ed Markey hired Sherrod Brown's campaign manager.

http://www.wchstv.com/newsroom/oh/201301121957_362180c.shtml

Markey announced Saturday that Sarah Benzing will manage his campaign. She most recently run the Sherrod Brown's successful race for Senate, overcoming $40 million in spending that outside groups poured into Ohio.

Benzing also managed New York Sen. Kristen Gillibrand's successful campaign in 2011. She previously worked as Iowa's Congressman Bruce Braley after managing his winning campaign in 2006.

Markey says Benzing's record managing grassroot campaigns shows she has the leadership, know-how and passion to lead his campaign to victory.

Oh Scottie will run again. His fragile ego, was vewy vewy bruised, when he lost.

We will just have to send him home with his tail between his legs. One more time.

Yes we can!

Woke up early and cleaned the garage or Gail would not speak to me. Had to think long and hard, but ended up cleaning it anyway. Going into Boston for a meeting, then a nice lunch and then hit a movie tonight. Any suggestions?

Not really the type of status I usually see on a public figure's wall.
One clue that he wants to return to DC would be if his wife kept the DC area job.

Probably an effort to look like the average joe, ranting about his wife?

There is a lot of noise of him not running this time, but I am not sure his ego will resist.

He can always recycle himself as a lobbyist,

I think he never lost before and he had a very inflated ego.

It is not clear which is the safer way to get back into power - Senate or Governor. I assume that he might not have a choice. If he doesn't run for the Senate and Markey (or another D) wins, the Republicans might fault him for not running and refuse to nominate him. If he runs and loses, I would guess that he might become a lobbyist. (However I wonder how valuable he is as a lobbyist as a Senator's value is likely his relationships and it is not clear his are all that good - once he loses again.)

What I thought weird was that I never before saw a politician create an image of their being less than perfect harmony with his/her spouse -- even when time shows there were problems. The second sentence - that he thought about (presumably Gail not speaking to him) a long time , then cleaned the garage anyway sounds pretty petulant and immature.

wife won't speak to him. har har.

So, if his wife kept her D.C. area job..it would seem that he might want to get back in the neighborhood on a more permanent basis?

We'll have to make sure his plans are foiled.. again.

Thanks karynVT

If Brown wants the nomination, it's his. There is no other Republican in Massachusetts who could be expected to break 40% of the vote.

The main thing that might stop him is if he decides to run for Governor in 2014. That might be a more winnable race, because Massachusetts, blue as it is, has elected several Republican governors who have a "moderate" image -- as Brown does and as Mitt Romney did before he gave the Etch-A-Sketch a shake and emerged as a "severely conservative" candidate for the national GOP primary electorate.

Brown, having lost to Warren in 2012, would not want to lose to Markey in 2013. That would make him damaged goods and undercut his image for 2014. Therefore, he might decide to sit this one out and prepare for 2014.

I've always thought the "Scott Brown is charismatic" was only so much bullshit.

Good On Sarah Benzing's record of Winning and Ed Markey for hiring her.. Lucky her..she doesn't have to deal in Lies and Smears like Scott Brown's campaign manager.

Thanks Mass
