Victor Garber came out

You may not know his name but you do know his picture.

http://www.advocate.com/arts-entertainment/people/2013/01/14/actor-victor-garber-confirms-yep-hes-gay

While everyone is debating the merits of Jodie Foster’s Golden Globes speech, another distinguished performer, albeit one with a lower profile, has quietly confirmed that he’s gay: character actor Victor Garber.

Garber, perhaps best known for Titanic and the TV series Alias, and currently on-screen in Argo, confirmed the information to Greg in Hollywood blogger Greg Hernandez in a recent interview.

In a post published today, Hernandez writes that he met Garber last week at the TV Critics Association Press Tour in Pasadena, Calif. He asked Garber about a Wikipedia entry that said he is partnered with a man, Rainer Andreesen, with whom he lives in New York. “I wondered if that’s something public, that you’ve confirmed,” Hernandez said to Garber.

“He seemed surprised by the question but said: ‘I don’t really talk about it but everybody knows,’” Hernandez writes. “Garber then added: ‘He’s going to be out here with me for the SAG Awards

end of quote

we used to laugh ourselves silly over pics of Victor as Jesus, as compared to pics of him as Jack Bristow. We used to talk about episodes, write fan fics, the whole bit. Some of the fan fics were pretty darn good. A few were absolutely hilarious. There was one about Vaughn's pet bulldog called "Bulldog Biscuits," as I recall, written from the dog's point of view. But the all-time champ was one in which Jack was made to go undercover as a rapper. "Please tell me that isn't a powder blue suit!" Funniest line ever! Good times.

or even just a less judgmental one it would be less significant. It wasn't a significant thing to me when my middle child told me she was gay. I just want her to be healthy and happy.

But, we don't live in a tolerant society in the slightest. There are pockets of tolerance, but as a whole our society isn't tolerant at all.

Do heterosexuals "come out"?

No person should have to announce their sexual preference. I find it sad that we feel the need to applaud those who do.

People every where need to be free to be whoever they are. No public announcements needed.

In this example and especially with public figures it's become more like an obligation, coming out, than a choice. Just my opinion.

He reminds me very much of Hugh Bonneville, Sir Robert Grantham of Downton Abbey.

And VG said something like, "Young Rose, you are very observant" or something like that.

I put my first funny webpage up back in 1997. It was called "Titragic: The Weepie" and I had great fun thinking things up.

Examples:

From The Daily Borborygmus, a newspaper:
Rose's Transformation: From Trophy Wife to Flotsam

He just doesn't talk about it. He's in his sixties now, and back when he was young, cops were still raiding "gay bars," even in places like NYC. That has to have some effect on how he deals with the "issue," for lack of a better word.

He played the mosts accurate portrayl of Andrews, besides Michael Goodliffe in A Night to Remember.

To the poster from a little above: The exact quote was "Rose, you miss nothing, do you?" when she remarks on the number of lifeboats.
