Apparently, only if, you own a gun, served in the military...

been in a life and death gun battle (is there any other kind?) and have read the constitution, you're qualified to speak up on gun control issues, if not, then STFU....
That's pretty much verbatim what I was told on facebook last night by a former classmate. I added the STFU part.

Dunno about you folks, but I'm kinda getting tired of being told what to do by people I consider to be brainwashed, dumbfuck, pseudo patriotic assholes.

There's a lot of people who say that if you want to own any firearms that aren't antiques, you should join the military. I'm getting tired of being told what to do by these folks, too.

I'm a liberal, but I like to hunt. I grew up around all kinds of guns. I don't want them to be taken away. But I sure as hell don't believe that civilians need access to weapons like the AR-15.

we certainly have more than we need for national defense. . .and therefore, the defense budget can readily be halved.

After all, it is all supposed to be about defense anyway.

I used that tactic to snare a couple of keyboard jockeys making threats against our POTUS. At one point, the Secret Service agent I was talking to said, "It looks like he's already purged the message, we can't find it." I asked him, "Would you like a copy of my screengrab?" The agent replied, "Sure!"

Hopefully you can find a system that works for you.

Here was my last reply to him that he never responded to.

"Man, you're throwing out every right wing talking point on this subject. What's next? Gonna start quoting LaPierre? "The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is with a good guy with a gun"? The only solution to all this gun violence is to introduce MORE guns into society? Please. The NRA and the gun manufacturers are laughing all the way to the bank. And they're walking on the backs of dead kids to get there. The very LAST thing this country needs is more fucking guns. For the record, I'm not for the disarming of gun owning Americans, I just don't want people to be able to get weapons, like the one used at the Sandy Hook Massacre, to be so damn easy to get. Why does a civilian need a weapon like the AR-15 anyway?"

I honestly think most gun-humpers can't even read.

Some other gun humper who reads merely told them what the Second Amendment sez, they memorized it, and that's all they knowz about rights.

There is no "rest of the Constitution" to these fools. Just that one right.

My gun humper friends told me so!

That doesn't mean it is gospel anymore than the next persons or gets to run unopposed.

Ideas are the real battles, the guns or swords or calvary or bows or as long as someone wanted to be lord and master under whatever guise most dangerously and none too rarely used by those with a shit load of them to enforce their idea and their ideas tend to pad their dragon's hoard or more under their dominion.

self images out of Bruce Willis movies and the bullshit stories their gun-range friends pump into their spongy brains. They have never had a gun pointed at them, but they are certain that, in a pinch, they will develop superhuman powers if only they are allowed to carry a gun.

Mostly, these are the guys who are shooting themselves in the foot in WalMart. And putting the rest of us in danger.

And there are a whole lot of them out there.
